Zone Linwood Avenue School currently has no enrolment zone and is able to accept children from any area. Enrolment Procedures Please contact the school office to arrange a time to visit the school and complete enrolment documentation. The school will need to photocopy: Birth Certificate or Passport Immunisation Record Five Year Old Enrolments The school operates an induction procedure that includes visits to the new classroom and attendance at the Headstart programme. Headstart is held twice and includes 4 x 1 hour sessions from 2-3pm on Fridays. The Assistant Principal, Margaret Oxley, will telephone parents to arrange attendance at Headstart. International - Enrolment Children can be enrolled at a New Zealand state primary school from their fifth birthday. Education becomes compulsory at age six. To enrol at Linwood Avenue School you must approach the Principal with a request for enrolment. This can be done by email: principal@linwoodave.school.nz or by visiting or emailing the school office office@linwoodave.school.nz You will be asked to complete a student enrolment form, which provides information about your child and your family. You will need to have the child's passport and evidence of medical and travel documents. International - Fees All New Zealand children enrolled at a state school are entitled to free education. International students do not qualify for free education and are required to pay fees. The fees set by the Linwood Avenue School Board of Trustees includes: the cost of employing extra staff ESOL (English lessons) administration costs portion of the school's operational costs a Crown fee that is imposed by the New Zealand Government GST (Goods and Services Tax amounting to 15% of the total fee) Actual costs are available in the information pack..
